ADOPTION APPLICATION

Thank you for your interest in adopting a bulldog.  In order to ensure the best match for the dog, we have a detailed process:

  • Apply - Fill out the application. To submit an application you must pay a $20 non refundable fee (details at the bottom of this form). You must fill in all of the fields. An incomplete application, or an application without a corresponding application fee will not be processed. Your approved application is valid for one year. If you have not adopted within that timeframe you must reapply and pay an additional application fee.

  • Application Review -  A volunteer will review your application and make sure all required information and documents are included. Make sure you fill in each field. Take the time to make sure phone numbers are accurate as vets will be called for references on current and/or past pets. WE VERIFY THAT YOUR DOG IS ON HEARTWORM PREVENTION! If you buy online, include your receipts from at least 12 months of purchases. We do not accept any homeopathic methods of heartworm prevention. If you have not had a dog in the last 10 years, in lieu of a vet reference, we will need a character reference letter on your behalf regarding pet care from a past or present employer or member of the community. This reference should be on letterhead and not from a family member or friend. If you rent, include your lease agreement or landlord permission letter. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered to be considered.

  • PHONE INTERVIEW - A volunteer will call you to go over your application, ask any clarifying questions, learn more about you, your home life and what you are looking for in a dog.  You will have the chance to speak with the coordinator about the rescue and ask any questions you may have.

  • HOME VISIT - A volunteer will come and ensure the home is bulldog safe.  Many bulldogs in our care have special needs, this is important in order for us to help with placement.

  • MATCH!  This part may take weeks to months to find the right fit.  We never place dogs on a first come, first served basis.  Nor do we place dogs purely based on what an approved adopters wishes.  The ultimate decision to place a dog is up to the adoption coordinator.

Once you have been approved as an adopter, you are able to ask questions about specific dogs that we have in foster.  We will work with you to find the match for you and your family/living situation!

To complete this application, you'll be asked to provide following paperwork:
- If you rent your home: proof you are allowed to have pets passing any weight/breed restrictions.

- If you are part of an HOA: proof you are allowed to have pets passing any weight/breed restrictions.

- Proof of current heartworm preventative for all dogs in the house for the past year. We do not accept any homeopathic methods of heartworm prevention.

- If you have a swimming pool, a photo of the safety fence around the pool. Screen enclosures do not count.

- If you live on/near water, a photo of the fence that separates your property from the body of water
